Appeal to Heaven Flag – Washington's Cruiser Flag | Made in USA
Display a piece of early American history with our Appeal to Heaven Flag, also known as Washington's Cruiser Flag or the Pine Tree Flag.
Featuring a green pine tree on a white field with the historic phrase “AN APPEAL TO HEAVEN,” this distinctive flag dates to the American Revolutionary era and is associated with early American naval forces.
Our outdoor version is proudly made in the USA and constructed for a crisp, vibrant appearance whether displayed from a residential flagpole, at a historical site, for educational purposes, or as part of a collection of early American flags.
A Historic American Flag
The Appeal to Heaven flag traces its origins to the early days of the American Revolution. The pine tree had already become an important symbol in colonial New England, and the phrase “An Appeal to Heaven” reflected the idea of appealing to a higher authority when other means of resolving a dispute had been exhausted.
The flag became associated with vessels commissioned under the authority of George Washington during the Revolutionary period, leading to the name Washington's Cruiser Flag.
Today, the design remains one of the most recognizable flags from America's Revolutionary era.
Made for Outdoor Display
This American-made Appeal to Heaven flag features a bright printed design with UV-treated, fade-resistant colors for outdoor display.
The fly end is reinforced with four rows of stitching to provide additional strength in the area of the flag that receives the greatest wind stress.
